Run live classes with group sessions
Use group sessions for live workshops, cohort classes and webinars, with booking, reminders and join links built in.

Not every class is a recorded course. Sygil makes live teaching easy to attend: a group session is a vault item where fans book a seat on a specific date, receive a reminder and a calendar invite, and join from their Activity when the class starts.
Why use group sessions for live classes
- Fans book and pay in one flow. No separate registration form.
- Seats are capped (2 to 1,000), which creates urgency.
- The meeting link is private until 15 minutes before start, so only paying fans get in.
- Reminders and calendar invites go out automatically.
- If you cannot run it, you cancel the session and every attendee is refunded in one click.
Set up a live class
- 1
Create a Call / Session item
Choose Group session.
- 2
Set seats
For example 40 seats per session.
- 3
Add dates
Add each class as a session. A weekly class is just a list of dates.
- 4
Add a link
A Zoom or Google Meet link. Use a different link per session if you prefer.
- 5
Price it
Typically ₹99 to ₹499 for a workshop, more for a multi-week programme.
- 6
Share it
Announce with a countdown story and an Auto-DM keyword.
Live plus recorded
Live classes and recorded content work well together.
| Format | How to build it on Sygil |
|---|---|
| Weekly live class | A group session with a date per week. |
| Live workshop, then a replay | A group session now. Upload the recording as a Digital File or a course lesson afterwards. |
| Live cohort with a recorded library | A course for the recorded lessons and a group session for weekly live Q&A. |
| Open office hours | A 1:1 call with weekly hours. |
Run the class
- Open your Vault Requests inbox 15 minutes before. The session appears under Happening now.
- Open the meeting link from the card. Turn on the waiting room or host controls.
- Teach. Ask students to leave a rating afterwards.
- Nothing to confirm. The session completes on its own.
