Followers and drop alerts
How fans follow you on Sygil, what they get notified about, and how to grow your follower count.

Instagram decides who sees your posts. On Sygil, when someone follows you, they are notified every time you publish something new. No algorithm in between. It is an audience you actually own.
How following works
- Fans follow you with one tap on your page, from their own Sygil account.
- Following is free. Your follower count is visible to you on your page and in your dashboard.
- A fan's first follow of you earns them a one-time bonus of 10 Fan Points with you.
- They can unfollow any time.
What followers are alerted about
| When you… | Followers get |
|---|---|
| Publish a new vault item | "New vault item available!" (or "Free reward available!" for a free one) |
| Schedule a vault item | "New drop coming soon!" with a note to check the countdown |
| Publish a new course | "New course available!" |
| Schedule a course | "New course coming soon!" |
Alerts appear in the notification bell inside Sygil, and as a web push notification on devices where the fan allowed push. Course alerts go out the first time you publish, so re-publishing never spams anyone.
Creators get alerts too
When someone follows you, you get a "New follower!" notification. When someone supports you, buys, books, or asks a question, you get one as well, plus optional emails. See Notifications.
Grow your follower count
- 1
Offer a free vault item
A fan who claims it is one tap from following. Free items are the easiest follow magnet.
- 2
Say it out loud
In videos: "Follow me on Sygil so you get pinged the second I drop something new. Instagram won't always show you my posts, but Sygil will."
- 3
Put it in your Stories
"Instagram hides half my posts. Follow my page and you'll get notified every time I drop something."
- 4
Use drops
A scheduled launch is the strongest reason to follow, because they get notified when it opens.
- 5
Reward followers
Give your followers 1 hour of early access in your community before a public announcement.
